YouTube Returns As Title Sponsor For VidCon 2025, Celebrating 20 Years Since First Video Upload
VidCon has announced that YouTube will return as title sponsor for its 14th annual flagship event, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the first-ever YouTube video upload – “Me At the Zoo.” The event takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center from June 19-21, 2025.
YouTube plans special celebrations throughout the June weekend, including an outdoor festival experience featuring interactive elements honoring creators, communities, and trends that shaped the platform.
“This year marks our 20th birthday, YouTube is home to the most creative, authentic, and entertaining videos produced by our wonderful creator communities all around the world,” Kate Stanford, Vice President of YouTube Marketing, said in a statement.
Revenue Growth and Market Position
According to Wall Street firm MoffettNathanson, YouTube is on track to surpass Disney as the largest media company by revenue by the end of 2025. The platform generated $54.2 billion in revenue in 2024, already making it the second-largest media company.
Recent earnings data shows YouTube’s ad revenue reached $8.93 billion in Q1 2025, a 10.3% increase year-over-year. The platform now counts more than 125 million YouTube Music and Premium subscribers globally.
Event Programming and Creator Participation
YouTube’s presence at VidCon will include interactive and educational content across Industry, Community, and Creator tracks. Programming will feature a keynote celebrating 20 years of YouTube from Kevin Allocca, Head of Culture and Trends, and Amjad Hanif, VP of Creator Products.
Additional activities will include a creator game show and a live Roblox Hunt featuring top YouTube creators in partnership with Roblox.
More than 200 Featured Creators are confirmed to attend, including Aphmau, Hank Green, Kalen Allen, LaurDIY, and Mythical Kitchen. The complete VidCon schedule will be revealed on May 6.
VidCon 2024 attracted over 55,000 attendees, demonstrating continued growth for the event that connects fans with creators through immersive experiences and programming.
