Minecraft Launches Affiliate Program With impact.com to Pay Creators for Marketplace Sales

Minecraft has launched its first affiliate program, giving creators, publishers, educators, and other partners a way to earn commissions by promoting eligible Minecraft Marketplace products sold on the web.

The program is powered by partnership commerce platform impact.com, which will manage creator relationships, track affiliate performance, and handle payments globally through a single platform. Minecraft describes the program as a way for traditional affiliates and influencers to earn commissions by promoting the platform’s products and subscriptions, although launch commissions apply only to eligible Marketplace products sold on the web. impact.com describes Minecraft as the best-selling video game of all time, with more than 300 million copies sold.

The launch adds a performance-based monetization layer to one of gaming’s largest creator communities. impact.com said the program makes it easier for creators to earn from Minecraft content they already share with their audiences.

“Minecraft has one of the most passionate creator communities in the world, and this program gives those creators a way to turn their influence into real business results,” said David A. Yovanno, CEO at impact.com, in a press release.

Commission Model

Affiliate partners can earn a starting commission of 5% on eligible Minecraft Marketplace products sold on the web. Eligible products include add-ons, skin packs, texture packs, mash-up packs, adventure maps, mini-games, and survival spawns. Persona items, games, and subscriptions are excluded from launch commissions. Applicants must be 18 or older.

The program is open to influencers with active social channels and affiliate marketers who manage websites, blogs, newsletters, deal sites, comparison sites, or communities. Minecraft notes that applicants should have quality content, engaged audiences, consistent activity, and responsible promotional practices.

Applications are handled through impact.com. Approvals may take up to one month due to anticipated application volume. impact.com will also handle tracking, affiliate links, reporting, and account support.

Creator and Affiliate Infrastructure

impact.com said the program will use its Performance and Creator partnership products together. The Creator solution allows Minecraft to discover, recruit, and manage creator partnerships at scale, while the Performance solution provides tracking, attribution, and payout tools. Partners will have access to transparent reporting and real-time performance dashboards showing what content resonates with their audiences.

The combined setup will support multiple partner types, including creators, publishers, educators, and Minecraft Marketplace partners.

impact.com framed the launch as part of a broader shift in which influencer and affiliate marketing are converging, with brands formalizing creator monetization through performance-based programs that include attribution, governance, and return-on-investment measurement. The company said the affiliate program is designed to scale globally and is expected to become one of the largest affiliate ecosystems in gaming.

Minecraft directs interested partners to apply through its affiliate program page.
