Indian Creator Varun Mayya’s Aeos Group Plans Network of Tens of Thousands of Clip Pages

Aeos, the bootstrapped Indian media group run by creator Varun Mayya, plans to build a clipping network of fan and clip pages described as Influencer Marketing done with small creators.

In an episode of the “Masters’ Union” podcast, Mayya said Aeos owns about 11 channels, including “AevyTV,” “AevyTV Daily,” and “100x Engineers,” but noted that those are not enough to influence the feed. The group would need many smaller pages covering a given topic, and it cannot build them all itself. “You need to collaborate with existing clippers,” he said. “So technically, it’s like Influencer Marketing but with tiny influencers.”

Mayya pointed to podcasters who run small teams of clippers across 10 to 20 pages, including fan pages for Raj Shamani’s show. He wants Aeos to operate at a much larger scale, which he put at “500,000 or 50,000” pages. He cited 50,000 as the number of clippers whose relationships the group would need to build, and said the work is manual and not guaranteed to succeed. “Not all of them will say yes,” he said. The plan covers India only for now.

Meta Interest and Existing Examples

Mayya said he spoke with Meta in November of last year and that the company seemed “pretty interested” in a clipping model. He added that he does not know the company’s current thinking. He also named creators who already use the approach. iShowSpeed is doing it, he said, and Clavicular has gone viral with a network Mayya estimated at about 7,000 clipping pages.

“I think that’s the new meta in on content,” Mayya said. He treats content formats as short-lived, listing vlogs, shows, shorts, and shorts with extra pages as successive phases. He said the AI avatar format that Aeos helped popularize is over. “These are all short-term arbitrages,” he said.

Aeos is shifting toward real-person long-form lectures, and Mayya said his long-form views have risen from 40,000 to 50,000 per video to 120,000 to 130,000.

Clipping Gains a Formal Layer

A clipping economy has formed between short-form and long-form content. Agencies cut podcasts and streams into short clips that ride the feed’s novelty and send viewers back to the long-form source. One agency built around the practice reports more than a billion views for brands and artists, and AI tools now automate the cutting. Mayya’s plan would add a network of third-party pages to that model, recruited by a media group rather than a single creator or agency.

Aeos has also started an Influencer Marketing arm, which Mayya said he did not initially want. He plans to cap the team at four or five people and said the business is commoditized. He expects firms in the space to be “driven down to like almost baseline margins.”

Mayya describes Aeos as a family-run group with about 540 employees that has grown “without a single dollar of outside funding.” Its units include AV, a video editing school, and YAAS Media, a YouTube services agency.
