Whalar Group Secures $400 Million Valuation With Investment From Marc Benioff, Shopify, ‘Fast And Furious’ Producer Neal Moritz
Global creator enterprise Whalar Group has raised capital at a $400 million valuation from investors including Salesforce Inc. CEO Marc Benioff, “Fast and Furious” producer Neal H. Moritz, and e-commerce company Shopify Inc., a Whalar spokesperson confirmed for Bloomberg.
The New York-based creator economy firm represents more than 300 TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram creators, helping them secure brand partnerships, launch products, and improve content creation. Since 2016, Whalar Group has distributed over $300 million to content creators.
“This investment validates that we’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible,” Neil Waller, co-CEO and co-founder of Whalar Group, said in a statement. “We’re doubling down on building infrastructure that lets Creators operate like major entertainment companies, but with the agility to rapidly adopt new ways of thinking and creating.”
Creator Ecosystem
Whalar Group has matured into a multi-faceted enterprise comprising six divisions: a full-service creator agency operating in over 40 markets, “The Lighthouse” creator campuses with production facilities, a talent management arm representing creators like Ali Abdaal and Doug the Pug, Foam data analytics platform, Moby Ventures capital unit, and Umi Games for gaming and metaverse opportunities.
According to Bloomberg, the company plans to use the new funding to help creators expand into Hollywood and launch businesses beyond traditional brand partnerships, positioning itself as a support system for the next generation of creator-entrepreneurs.
