Mark Rober Joins Netflix With Experiments, New Competition Show

Netflix has signed former NASA engineer and social media creator Mark Rober for a multi-project content partnership. The deal includes bringing Rober’s science experiments to the streaming platform later this year, followed by a new Kids and Family competition series slated for 2026.

The competition show will be produced by Rober’s company, CrunchLabs, in partnership with Jimmy Kimmel’s production company, Kimmelot. Rober and CrunchLabs Chief Content Officer Scott Lewers will executive produce alongside Kimmel and Kimmelot President Scott Lonker.

“I love turning learning into a game, basically hiding the vegetables in the dessert, and now it’s a full-on competition game show,” Rober said in a statement. “When you’re having fun, you’re learning without even realizing it.”

Rober commands a substantial digital presence with over 76 million followers across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The Netflix partnership adds to his growing portfolio of educational content collaborations.

In June, Rober partnered with children’s content creator Toys and Colors on a new STEM series for YouTube. The collaboration showcases experiments conducted at CrunchLabs, Rober’s “Willy Wonka factory for engineering,” which also produces hands-on STEM subscription boxes for children.

TeamWater Charity Campaign

Alongside his content ventures, Rober is currently co-leading the TeamWater campaign with fellow creator MrBeast. The initiative aims to raise $40 million by August 31 for global clean water projects through partners including WaterAid, GivePower, and the Alok Foundation.

TikTok joined the campaign with a $1.5 million donation and platform integration through a dedicated Donation Sticker. On August 14, a charity livestream featuring MrBeast, Adin Ross, and xQc raised $12.02 million in under 16 hours, potentially setting a new Guinness World Record.

The TeamWater campaign follows MrBeast’s previous environmental initiatives #TeamTrees (2019) and #TeamSeas (2021), which collectively raised over $50 million.
