Toys and Colors Partners With Former NASA Engineer Mark Rober In New STEM Series On YouTube

Children’s content creator Toys and Colors is collaborating with former NASA engineer and YouTube personality Mark Rober in a new educational series. The joint venture features content across both creators’ channels and showcases hands-on science experiments conducted at Rober’s CrunchLabs facility.

In the premiere episode, participants conducted an “elephant toothpaste” experiment under supervision, combining hydrogen peroxide, dry yeast, warm water, food coloring, and dish soap to create dramatic foam eruptions. Science Bob, who appeared as a guest instructor, emphasized the importance of safety equipment and adult supervision for home experiments.

The collaboration provides viewers with full access to CrunchLabs, where the team designs educational toys and demonstrations. Featured innovations include an “infinite slinky staircase” that maintains continuous motion, demonstrations of the Kanda effect, and various projectile-launching devices, including a tennis ball cannon.

Behind the Partnership

This initiative combines Toys and Colors’ storytelling approach with Rober’s engineering expertise. Toys and Colors, a partner of pocket.watch, commands over 75 million YouTube subscribers and 128 billion lifetime views across their channels. Rober, leveraging his NASA background, has built an audience of nearly 70 million subscribers through science experiments and engineering builds.

Throughout the content, presenters reinforce educational messaging. “Science is all about curiosity,” Science Bob states in the video. “Never stop exploring, always be safe, and always have fun.” This collaboration represents a significant cross-platform initiative in the educational content space.
