Kai Cenat Targets 1 Million Subs In ‘Final Mafiathon’ With Michael B. Jordan

Twitch streamer Kai Cenat has revealed plans for “Mafiathon 3,” promising to “go bigger than ever” for what he describes as the final installment in his trilogy of record-breaking subathons. The event begins on September 1 and will run throughout the month, featuring a star-studded lineup headlined by actor Michael B. Jordan, per Tubefilter.

In a “Scarface”-inspired trailer featuring Jordan, Cenat announced his target of reaching one million subscribers during the event. “This time, we’re going for one million subscribers,” Cenat tells Jordan in the trailer. “No one’s ever done it.”

The subathon comes as Twitch faces increasing pressure from competing platforms. According to Stream Hatchet’s Q2 2025 report, while Twitch maintains market leadership with 54.2% share, the platform recorded its lowest quarterly figure since Q3 2020, falling below 5 billion hours watched for the first time in nearly five years.

Meanwhile, competing platforms like Kick have shown strong growth, improving market share by 5.5% compared to Q2 2024 and approaching 1 billion quarterly hours watched with 983 million hours in Q2.

Fortnite Collaboration Adds Momentum

Cenat last month unveiled his upcoming Fortnite Icon Series skin through a two-minute video displayed on the Las Vegas Sphere. The skin, available in-game starting September 12, features a Kai Cenat outfit with a red cap, white shirt, and red pants with “AMP” text, along with other cosmetic items.

The Sphere display also featured a Mercedes AMG vehicle, confirming a three-way collaboration between Fortnite, Cenat, and the automotive brand.

Cenat’s previous “Mafiathon 2” reportedly generated approximately $3.6 million in Twitch subscription revenue alone, with total earnings potentially exceeding $20 million including sponsorships and advertising.

Even if Cenat falls short of his subscriber goal, he remains positioned to finish 2025 on top of the Twitch leaderboard, with plans to continue his “Streamer University” series in 2026.
