Kai Cenat Launches ‘Streamer University’ To Mentor Content Creators
Twitch streamer Kai Cenat announced the launch of “Streamer University,” a new educational platform aimed at aspiring content creators.
Cenat, who topped Twitch’s monthly viewership charts four times in 2024, revealed the initiative on May 6 through an Instagram video inviting fans to “enroll now.”
“I’m excited to extend to you a most heartfelt welcome to the very first class of Streamer University,” Cenat stated in the announcement. “Here, you will find a school where chaos is encouraged and content is king.”
Program Structure and Format
The platform, first teased during a February 13 Twitch stream, plans to operate over a weekend at a rented university campus. Cenat intends to serve as the school’s principal and establish a comprehensive educational environment, including dormitories.
Applications are open to content creators regardless of their current following size, though admission is not guaranteed. According to Cenat, rejected applicants can reapply for future semesters.
Cenat aims to recruit prominent creators as instructors, mentioning YouTube stars MrBeast and Mark Rober as potential faculty members. “In terms of the classes, I would love to do some where Mark Rober is the professor for that day, doing crazy experiments for everybody’s stream,” Cenat explained. “Say there is a financial class, MrBeast in that.”
Market Context
The initiative launches amid steady growth in the live streaming sector. According to marketing firm Stream Hatchet, live streaming viewership reached 8.5 billion hours watched in Q4 2024, representing a 12% year-over-year increase.
Cenat, 23, ranked 24th on Forbes’s list of top-earning creators in 2024 with estimated earnings of $8.5 million. StreamElements CEO Or Perry has described the current Twitch era as “the Kai Cenat age,” following previous eras dominated by creators like Ninja and xQc.
