TikTok Releases Standalone TikTok Shop App in Four Markets

TikTok has released a standalone TikTok Shop app in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, giving its e-commerce business a dedicated app outside the main TikTok platform.

The app is available on iOS and Android. Social media consultant Matt Navarra first spotted it. He said the iOS version was released Oct. 27, is not currently listed in the U.S. or U.K. Apple App Stores, and is a consumer app separate from TikTok Shop Seller Center.

According to the app’s store listings, users get personalized product recommendations, livestreams and short videos showing products in use, in-app checkout, order tracking, and 24/7 customer support. The listings also advertise app-exclusive deals, free shipping promotions and first-order perks. TechCrunch noted that the description promises “secure payments for safe checkout.”

Mashable reported that the Google Play listing shows more than 50,000 downloads, while the Singapore Apple App Store ranks the app No. 71 in the shopping category with a single five-star rating.

A Separate Corporate Entity

The Singapore App Store listing names TikTok Pte. Ltd. as the provider, Mashable reported. That company is separate from TikTok USDS Joint Venture, which operates TikTok in the U.S. According to Mashable, the majority-American-owned joint venture handles U.S. data security, recommendation algorithms and content moderation, while TikTok’s global business manages commercial activities, including e-commerce.

TechCrunch reported it is unknown whether TikTok plans to release the app more widely or bring it to the U.S. A U.S. launch would put it in competition with Amazon and Temu, as well as retailers such as Walmart and Target, whose customers are accustomed to ordering through store apps.

TechCrunch said the app could help TikTok Shop reach shoppers beyond the main platform and suggested TikTok is prepared to invest more heavily in social commerce. It compared the move to Amazon’s 2022 launch of “Inspire,” a TikTok-like shopping feed that was discontinued in 2025. Mashable said a dedicated app could help TikTok compete for the moments when someone opens Amazon or Temu intending to browse or buy, with shopping becoming the reason to open the app.

The app follows other TikTok expansions into games, restaurant guides, sports hubs, hotel booking and microdramas. The company is also exploring payments. Mashable cited PineDrama, a short-drama service launched earlier this year in its own app, as another example of TikTok giving a category its own app.

Where Shop Stands with Brands

Momentum Works estimated that Americans bought $11.8 billion of products on TikTok Shop in the first half of 2026, double the first half of 2025. eMarketer projects $23.4 billion in U.S. Shop sales for the full year.

Sales are concentrated. Marketplace Pulse data cited in the report shows the top 1% of sellers take 60% of all sales, while the bottom half take 0.1%. On costs, Gary Garofalo of Loudcrowd stated: “TikTok Shop takes a huge chunk of revenue if that’s where the transaction happens. If you’re a tight-margin brand, that’s going to hurt.”

Brands have already treated Shop as a primary sales channel. In February, Frito-Lay launched its “Flavor Swap” chips exclusively on TikTok Shop weeks ahead of the national retail rollout. Crocs became the first U.S. footwear brand to embed TikTok Shop directly into its seven-episode TikTok series, “Déjà Shoe.”
