TikTok Shop Rolls Out Automated Ad Tool and Subscription Feature for UK Sellers
TikTok Shop added a slate of new seller tools in the UK this month, including an automated advertising program that reinvests sales into ad spend without manual top-ups and a subscription feature that lets buyers set up recurring purchases, according to the platform’s latest Product Pulse update.
The update lands as TikTok Shop’s UK business has scaled sharply. The platform had attracted more than 200,000 UK small and medium businesses by the end of 2025, alongside major retailers including Marks & Spencer, Samsung, QVC, Clarks and Sainsbury’s, and recorded its largest UK sales day on Black Friday, selling 27 items every second, according to research. TikTok Shop was the UK’s fastest-growing online retailer in 2024, per the company’s own UK Shopping Report.

The New Tools
GMV Max Net Sales Boost automatically creates and optimizes ads for eligible products that are not already being advertised, with TikTok Shop handling creative selection, targeting and bidding. Eligible shops are enrolled by default unless they opt out, and the first 30 days run free of additional cost under a promotional period during which settings stay locked while the system learns. Sellers can adjust their ROI target or disable the program after that window; opt-out requests made during the promotional period may take up to seven working days to process.
Subscribe & Save, now live in Seller Centre, lets buyers commit to automatic recurring purchases on eligible products at a 5%, 10%, 15% or 20% discount, which sellers can edit or pause at any time.
The platform also upgraded Shoppable Photo to Shoppable Carousel, letting sellers turn a set of two or more product images, five to seven recommended, into a swipeable shoppable post without filming video. The carousel format now supports a separate, dedicated commission rate that creators can check before posting, counts carousel-driven sales toward refundable-sample requirements but not free-sample fulfillment, and tags carousel orders separately in the Affiliate orders tab.
Sales Accelerator added a Bestseller Incubation module that offers sellers up to £300 in ad credits, £150 each for completing a Shoppable Video Task and an Ads Challenge, aimed at moving products in the Strategic Key Product Pool toward bestseller status. The two tasks share a £750 monthly cap per seller, and credits must be claimed manually and used within 30 days.
Three new livestream features, Price Cut, Group Deal and Second Chance, are designed to keep viewers engaged during a broadcast, while a new Multi Selling Mode lets sellers list the same item under both Fixed Price and LIVE Auction formats, reserve inventory specifically for auctions, and batch-edit auction settings such as duration and end method across multiple listings at once.
Why It Matters for Sellers
The additions arrive as UK sellers report concrete returns on the platform. London jewelry brand L’ERA projected roughly £145,000 in TikTok revenue last year, running three-hour livestreams three times a week, scaling to six during Black Friday and Christmas. M&S has drawn livestream audiences as large as 260,000 viewers, generating a sale roughly every 30 seconds. Business consultant Jules Brim has also flagged the trade-off sellers face on the platform, noting it “can create a race to the bottom on pricing” and “put pressure on small businesses to produce constant content.”
