Agoda’s New Ambassador Program Transforms Travel Creators Into Commission-Earning Partners

Agoda launched a new ambassador program that enables travel content creators to earn commissions on bookings while receiving complimentary travel experiences, per Content Grip

The online travel agency introduced a performance-based system where creators share unique promotional codes with their audiences and earn a 4–5% commission per booking, capped at US$10.

The program, which began this month, provides participants with monthly sponsored stays and activities valued up to US$225, according to Agoda. These accommodations allow creators to produce content featuring the company’s hotel partners without requiring personal investment.

Recent research from the University of West Attica and University of Patras finds that co-creation between travel influencers and audiences significantly enhances customer experience, with the effect being measurable across all stages of travel planning and execution.

Program Combines Performance Marketing with Content Creation

The initiative merges traditional affiliate marketing with influencer partnerships. Creators earn direct commissions through trackable promo codes while simultaneously generating content that builds brand visibility. Selected participants may also be featured in Agoda’s marketing campaigns, increasing their exposure.

“By giving them the tools to share authentic experiences and rewarding them for the bookings they generate, we’re building a partnership model that benefits travel creators, travelers, and our hotel partners alike,” says Matteo Frigerio, Agoda’s Chief Marketing Officer, in the announcement.

The academic study “Influencers as Brand Architects” demonstrates that when travelers actively engage with influencer content rather than passively consume it, the model’s explanatory power for positive customer experiences increases from 20.9% to 34.3%.
