Samsung TV Plus Taps Dhar Mann Studios for Its First Original Scripted Series

Samsung TV Plus debuted its first original scripted series on June 5, partnering with Dhar Mann Studios to premiere “Unlikely Romances,” a four-part anthology about unexpected love stories.

The deal, first announced at Samsung’s NewFronts presentation in July 2025, marks the platform’s first creator-led original content deal. Dhar Mann, the YouTube creator with more than 170 million followers and approximately 300 million weekly views across platforms, serves as writer and executive producer. New episodes will debut weekly through June 26, with Samsung having ordered a total of 13 episodes.

“Unlikely Romances builds on what our audience has always connected with most: emotional stories that make people feel seen, understood, and hopeful,” Mann said in an announcement. “To become the first creator-led company to develop original scripted content for Samsung TV Plus is an incredible milestone for our studio.”

The series is available on Samsung Television Network in the United States and on the dedicated Dhar Mann TV channel across 13 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Each episode follows two people who, brought together by unexpected circumstances, are forced to challenge their assumptions about compatibility.

Shifting Strategy for FAST Platforms

For Samsung TV Plus, the commission represents a shift in content strategy. Like other FAST platforms such as Roku, Tubi, and Pluto, Samsung TV Plus has historically relied on catalog and licensed content. The platform serves more than 100 million monthly active users and carries over 4,300 ad-supported linear channels across 30 countries.

Salek Brodsky, SVP and Global Head of Samsung TV Plus, said the platform is “building a home for today’s top Creators on FAST, bringing their content into a premium, curated environment designed for the biggest screen in the home.”

Broader Creator Expansion

The Dhar Mann partnership is part of a wider creator initiative at Samsung TV Plus. The platform has launched dedicated FAST channels for Mark Rober, Michelle Khare, Smosh, The Try Guys, Epic Gardening, and Donut Media. Unlike those arrangements, which primarily feature existing videos, Samsung directly supported the production of Dhar Mann’s scripted series.

“Unlikely Romances” also premieres alongside a six-part docuseries, “Hooligans: The ARCH Racing Project with Keanu Reeves and Gard Hollinger,” another Samsung TV Plus Exclusive debuting this summer.

Creative Artists Agency agents Greg Siegel and David Freeman brokered the deal alongside Samsung executive Tamara Rothenberg and Dhar Mann Studios’ Sean Atkins and Ross Habif.
