Overtime, Fox One Launch ‘Race to Glory’ Creator Competition Series Around FIFA World Cup
Fox One and social-first sports media company Overtime have partnered on an unscripted short-form digital series tied to the FIFA World Cup, per The Hollywood Reporter.
“Race to Glory” launched across Fox One’s social media channels, featuring two creator teams competing in soccer-inspired challenges across four World Cup host cities: New York (May 27-29), Los Angeles (June 12-13), Miami (June 27-28), and Philadelphia (July 12-14). Jolie Sharpe hosts the series.
Creator Rakai captains “Mud United,” with teammates Tota, a Brazilian creator selected for Kai Cenat’s Streamer University; H00pify, a Buffalo-based basketball and internet culture creator; and soccer, fitness, and lifestyle creator Sam Russo.
Their opposing team, “Aura City,” is captained by Bronx streamer Tylil. The roster includes Sketch, winner of best sports streamer at the 2024 Streamer Awards; Davis, a founding member of creator collective AMP; and soccer creator and host Rose Ruland.
Overtime will produce more than 500 pieces of original short-form content for the collaboration, including behind-the-scenes footage, challenge videos, selfies, and recaps, distributed across dedicated social channels.
“Creators play a critical role in how younger fans experience sports today,” said Brian Borkowski, chief marketing officer for Fox direct to consumer. “Together with Overtime, we’re delivering tournament content that feels native and engaging for the next generation.”
“Fox One is where every match will live, and our job is to make sure the fans who grew up on their phones know exactly where to find it,” said Marc Kohn, president of content at Overtime.
Fox One carries all 104 FIFA World Cup matches in the United States, alongside content from Fox, FS1, Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Weather, and Fox Nation.
