iShowSpeed’s World Cup Song Lands Official FIFA Album Spot After Racking Up 50M Views in 24H
iShowSpeed’s “World Cup (Champions)” has secured a spot on the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album, days after the track accumulated more than 50 million combined views across platforms within its first 24 hours of release.
Warner Records released the song on June 1, ten days before the FIFA World Cup 2026 kickoff, as a surprise drop. iShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., secretly recorded the track and filmed its music video ahead of time. The song references nearly all 48 participating nations, with lyrics urging fans to put their “flags up in the air.”
24-Hour Performance
Within 13 hours of release, the YouTube video accumulated approximately 3 million views, reaching 6 million by the 24-hour mark alongside 500,000 likes within 15 hours. A teaser posted to Instagram gathered 40 million views and 4.3 million likes in roughly 24 hours, while the X version drew 36 million views and more than 300,000 likes in the same window.
Fan commentary on social media compared the track favorably to the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album lineup, which includes Shakira, Tyla, Rema, and Burna Boy. Comments such as “This should be the official song” circulated widely across platforms. FIFA’s official X account replied to the growing conversation with “We will be in touch…”
FIFA Confirmation
On June 3, 2026, Watkins opened an Instagram direct message from the FIFA World Cup account during a livestream. The message read: “We heard it. We liked it. It’s on the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album.” Watkins’ stream title subsequently changed to “FIFA MADE IT OFFICIAL.”
The confirmation extends a relationship between Watkins and FIFA that began at least a year earlier. In May 2025, FIFA President Gianni Infantino appeared on Watkins’ YouTube channel during a broadcast reaching nearly 40 million subscribers to unveil the Club World Cup trophy, and presented Watkins with the tournament’s official match ball.
Watkins’ 2022 “World Cup” track currently sits at approximately 97 million Spotify streams and 210 million YouTube views.
