Amelia Dimoldenberg’s ‘Passenger Princess’ Returns for Season 2 With Six New F1 Drivers

Amelia Dimoldenberg‘s YouTube series “Passenger Princess” premiered its second season on July 22, pairing the “Chicken Shop Date” creator with six Formula 1 drivers across two Grand Prix weekends after its debut season drew more than 289 million views.

The series, produced through Dimoldenberg’s studio Dimz Inc. in partnership with Formula 1, follows the creator as she works toward a driving license under instruction from F1 drivers. Season 2 was filmed during the Spanish and Austrian Grands Prix and features Charles Leclerc, Franco Colapinto, Valtteri Bottas, Gabriel Bortoleto, Kimi Antonelli and Alex Albon across six episodes releasing weekly through July and August.

Season 1, which launched in October 2025, paired Dimoldenberg with George Russell, Ollie Bearman, Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz at Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Dimoldenberg said the concept originated from a dialogue between her team and Formula 1. “We thought a really good idea, especially as I don’t have a driving license, would be if Formula 1 drivers taught me to drive and they could be my driving instructors,” she said in an interview with F1.

The new season expands the format’s ambitions beyond basic instruction. “Season 1 was very much like: learn the basics, learn the ropes, you haven’t done this before,” Dimoldenberg said. “Whereas in Season 2, I feel like we’re learning a bit more about the car controls, we’re doing parallel parks nearly every episode, we’re doing a three-point turn.” Episodes will cover skills including donuts with Antonelli, car controls with Albon, speed control with Bortoleto and theory test preparation with Leclerc.

Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1, called the series “a brilliant way to engage both existing fans and new audiences.” Formula 1’s global fanbase exceeds 830 million people, and “Passenger Princess” adds to a slate of original entertainment for the sport that includes “F1 The Movie” and Netflix’s “Drive to Survive.”

In an email to Forbes, Dimoldenberg described creative control as central to the collaboration. “My team and I are always striving to develop projects that differ from what already exists; we like to say we are ‘allergic to being generic,'” she said, adding that “brands/clients have to grant that creative freedom” for such partnerships to work. She said YouTube is “the perfect home because of the accessibility and reach,” allowing her to maintain creative independence while reaching audiences directly.

The series is part of a broader pattern of talent-founded production companies partnering with brands on original YouTube programming rather than licensing talent for standalone placements. Other examples include Joey Graceffa’s “Escape the Night,” which ran four seasons as a YouTube Original beginning in 2016, and Alex Cooper’s “Unwell Winter Games.” Beginning in 2028, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will livestream the Oscars on YouTube for the first time.

Dimoldenberg said she remains far from securing her license despite the added skills covered in Season 2. “Not confident at all, actually,” she told F1. “I just think it’s like I’ve got a block with the driving; I can’t be good at everything.
