Meta Adds AI Moderation, Team Collaboration Tools to ‘Forum,’ Its Facebook Groups App

Meta has introduced a new set of admin-facing tools for “Forum,” the standalone app for Facebook Groups it launched earlier this year, aimed at reducing the manual workload of running a community. The update expands the app’s existing AI capabilities and adds collaboration features for admin teams.

“Admin AI,” the group management tool built into Forum, can now draft posts for admins to review and publish, and check pending posts against a group’s own rules, tagging each one as likely compliant or likely in violation. The tags appear in the pending post queue and within Admin AI itself, which Meta says is meant to speed up approval decisions. Admin AI already surfaced suggestions on member requests and pending items, along with what topics members were discussing.

“Admin Assist,” the platform’s automated moderation tool, is also getting more flexible. Admins can now combine multiple conditions, such as post length, link usage, or a member’s prior moderation history, into custom rules. Meta says admins retain full control over what their groups allow, and all posts remain subject to the company’s Community Standards.

Forum is also introducing insights tailored to a group’s stage of development, whether newly created, growing, or established, intended to point admins toward what to prioritize next. Those insights appear within the group itself and on the Admin Home screen.

For teams managing a group together, Forum now offers a shared content calendar so co-admins and moderators can see what has already been scheduled. Admin AI can help draft and schedule up to five posts at once. Admins can also pin a comment to the top of a conversation, a feature meant for highlighting an answer, correction, or clarification from a member.

Forum launched in May as a dedicated, Reddit-like space for Facebook Groups, letting users browse group conversations outside the main Facebook feed and ask questions that pull answers from across their groups. Meta expanded the app further in September with testing of a new top-contributor role that replaced earlier badges, along with features allowing Ask to compare options and resume previous searches.
