Sounds Profitable Names Molly DeMellier As Head Of Communications Following Podcast Movement Merger
Sounds Profitable has appointed Molly DeMellier as its first Head of Communications. The trade association created the senior leadership position following its merger with Podcast Movement.
According to the announcement, DeMellier will lead global communications functions, including media relations, marketing, external storytelling, and internal communications. She will support PR and marketing efforts for Sounds Profitable partners and oversee event execution at festivals, including SXSW, Cannes Lions, and the flagship Podcast Movement event.
“Our merger with Podcast Movement opened the door for ambitious growth, and elevating communications is central to how we serve this industry,” said Bryan Barletta, Partner at Sounds Profitable and President of Podcast Movement, in the announcement. “Molly’s experience building narratives in podcasting as well as across major entertainment and tech brands makes her the ideal leader to drive this next chapter.”
Tom Webster, Partner at Sounds Profitable, added that DeMellier will translate research insights into industry narratives. “With research as the backbone of everything we do, having a dedicated Head of Communications ensures those findings aren’t just published, but understood, contextualized, and acted on,” Webster said.
“I’ve watched Sounds Profitable grow over the years and have always respected the clarity and leadership the team brings to the podcasting industry,” DeMellier told Net Influencer. “They sit at the center of some of the most important conversations shaping podcasting today, and my role is about making sure those insights, ideas, and perspectives cut through, whether that’s in the press, with partners, or on the ground at major industry moments like SXSW and Cannes.”
