Flexjet Acquires TikTok Jet Broker Steve Varsano’s The Jet Business

Flexjet has acquired London-based aircraft brokerage and advisory firm The Jet Business, bringing founder Steve Varsano aboard as the company’s new President, the companies announced.

Varsano, who founded The Jet Business in 2011, will focus on product innovation and international growth in his new role. He has accumulated 2.5 million followers on TikTok and 392,000 on Instagram, with his most-watched video surpassing 35 million views. Corporate Jet Investor, which first reported the deal, described him as the world’s best-known aircraft salesperson.

Under the deal, Flexjet’s existing FXSolutions aircraft brokerage will share back-office functions with The Jet Business while the two entities continue to operate as separate brands. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Varsano said he initially turned to social media to generate new client leads. “I started using social media because I thought it might help me find new customers,” he told Corporate Jet Investor. “It did, but the real satisfaction comes when you meet young people who come up to you and say, ‘I went to Embry-Riddle because of one of your posts’ or say, ‘I work in aviation because of you.’ That means so much more.”

New Client Offering

Flexjet said The Jet Business clients will gain access to a new service called Flexjet Solutions, providing aircraft operational support, pre-purchase inspections, maintenance infrastructure, aircraft-on-ground response resources, and aircraft management services.

Flexjet Chairman Kenn Ricci cited fleet strategy as a driver of the acquisition. “A core tenet of our luxury strategy is maintaining one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the industry. To do that effectively requires sophisticated capabilities around aircraft remarketing and transition planning,” he said.

The deal expands Flexjet’s European footprint, which includes a sales center in London’s Mayfair and a Tactical Control Centre at Farnborough Airport, where the company plans to open a new private terminal later this summer.
