Steven Bartlett’s Flightcast Launches Collaborative Editing Tools for Podcast Production Teams

Flightcast, the video-first podcast hosting and distribution platform co-founded by “The Diary of a CEO” host Steven Bartlett, has launched “Collaborative Publishing,” a suite of tools that lets multiple team members edit the same podcast episode at once without overwriting each other’s work.

The update allows team members to work simultaneously across different fields of an episode, including titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and other details. Users can see who is actively editing each field, while Flightcast automatically saves every change into a shared working copy.

“Podcast production has always been collaborative, but the technology behind publishing hasn’t kept pace with how teams actually work,” said Rox Codes, co-founder and CEO of Flightcast. “When you’re publishing a daily show or working against a breaking news deadline, you can’t afford to coordinate every title change, description update, or thumbnail swap manually. Collaborative Publishing gives teams a single working version of an episode where everyone can do their job without worrying about undoing someone else’s.”

The feature is built around what Flightcast calls the “Working Copy,” which saves changes automatically without pushing them live. When an episode is ready, a team member selects “Review Changes,” which locks in the exact state of the episode for review before publishing. That means further edits made during review will not alter what ultimately goes live.

The launch also introduces permanent “Audit Logs,” giving customers a record of every change made to an episode, down to a single edited character or a swapped thumbnail, with editor attribution and timestamps.

Flightcast, founded by Bartlett and Codes, launched almost a year ago as a consolidated distribution and analytics platform for video podcasters, entering a market where YouTube had grown to roughly 40% share of monthly podcast listeners. “Collaborative Publishing” extends that positioning from an individual creator tool toward infrastructure built for larger production teams, a shift the platform’s own leadership has pointed to as podcasting professionalizes beyond single-host operations.
