Steven Bartlett, Ex-MrBeast Engineer Launch Flightcast Platform As Video Podcast Market Consolidates
Steven Bartlett, creator of “The Diary Of A CEO,” and Roxcodes, the former engineer at MrBeast, have launched Flightcast, a platform designed to streamline video podcast distribution and analytics, as Sounds Profitable data shows increasing platform concentration and shifting format preferences.
The all-in-one platform consolidates distribution, analytics, and growth tools for video podcasters across major platforms, including YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. Flightcast emerges as YouTube strengthens its position as the primary podcast destination, holding approximately 40% market share of monthly listeners in 2025, according to recent Sounds Profitable research.
“Flightcast brings together all of the tools we built to help us grow,” Bartlett said in a press release. “The demand for high-quality video podcast content is skyrocketing, but the process for creators has been unnecessarily complex and time-consuming.”

The platform offers two primary features: a unified upload flow that handles both video and audio distribution in a single interface, and a consolidated analytics dashboard that combines performance data across platforms.

The percentage of consumers expecting podcasts to be audio-only dropped to 21% in 2025 from 26% in 2024, according to Sounds Profitable’s research. The majority now expect flexibility in format, with 38% expecting “usually audio, may be video,” 25% saying podcasts “may be either” format, and 13% expecting “usually video, may be audio.”
Platform usage patterns reinforce this trend. On YouTube, 34% of podcast consumers watch video 76-100% of the time, while only 15% of Spotify users do the same. Smart TV podcast consumption is heavily concentrated on YouTube, accounting for 76% of podcast viewing on these devices.
Features Target Creator Pain Points
Flightcast’s key capabilities include cross-platform distribution, unified analytics, AI-powered video clip generation, and data analysis. The platform automatically creates clips from episodes, uploads them to a test channel on YouTube, and tracks performance to identify high-performing moments before publishing winners to the main channel.

“The biggest creators hire full-time data scientists to find the 1% gains,” said Roxcodes, who serves as Flightcast’s CEO. “Flightcast cuts through that with software that supports creators to quantify their data, truly understand their audience, and unlock their true potential.”
The platform also incorporates AI trained on creators’ existing content to generate titles, descriptions, and chapters that match their voice and style.

The average weekly podcast consumer now spends 6.3 hours listening to podcasts in 2025, up from 6.0 hours in 2024, with 44% of listeners reporting increased consumption compared to the previous year. Comedy remains the most popular podcast genre at 36%, followed by political talk (31%), true crime (30%), and news (30%).Flightcast enters the market as platform concentration and shifting format preferences reshape how creators approach growth. The launch builds on Bartlett’s FlightStory venture, a company that creates, produces, and scales creator-led media formats, and is home to “The Diary of a CEO.”
