Red Seat Ventures’ Supercast Adds Live Streaming

Supercast, the podcast subscription platform owned by Fox Corporation’s Red Seat Ventures, launched live streaming for its creators, letting subscribers join real-time video broadcasts, chats and events without leaving the platform.

The feature lets creators connect existing streaming software to go live directly on Supercast. Subscribers receive app or email notifications when a stream begins. The launch adds live video and real-time chat to a single viewing experience, along with fan engagement tools including chat, live polls and paid message pinning that keeps a subscriber’s comment visible in the conversation. A video premiere function lets creators turn pre-recorded video into a live event with the same chat and polling tools available during live broadcasts.

“Supercast has always been built to help creators deepen their relationships with their audiences,” said Jason Sew Hoy, co-founder and CEO of Supercast. “Live streaming brings a powerful new dimension to that relationship, giving creators an easy way to turn their subscription communities into active, shared experiences, all in one place, without needing to send subscribers somewhere else.”

Tony Hinchcliffe said the “Kill Tony+” community has responded to the ad-free experience and live premieres of the show. “Finally, the online audience has a place to congregate in real time and watch ‘Kill Tony’ as a group,” he said. “It’s the next best thing to being here in Austin.” Benjamin Ahr Harrison and Adam Pranica of “The Greatest Generation” and Aaron and Dan of “Theories of the Third Kind” also used the feature ahead of launch, with the “Theories” hosts citing stream quality and audience interaction.

Fox acquired Supercast in February 2026 as part of Red Seat Ventures’ push to unify advertising and subscription monetization for podcast creators under one provider. At the time of the acquisition, Supercast’s top 10 podcasters were generating more than $26 million annually in subscription revenue combined, and the platform said it would continue operating autonomously under Sew Hoy with backing from Red Seat Ventures for product development and creator growth. Red Seat Ventures, which Fox acquired in February 2025, has also built out advertising-side deals since then, including a distribution and ad sales agreement with Audiochuck reported at $150 million and an exclusive sales agreement covering NFL-related podcasts with The 33rd Team.
