Fox’s Red Seat Ventures Acquires Podcast Subscription Platform Supercast
Red Seat Ventures, a division of Fox Corporation’s Tubi Media Group, has acquired Supercast, a subscription platform for podcast creators, to unify advertising and subscription monetization services under one provider for podcast businesses.
Founded in 2019, Supercast serves independent shows and podcast networks across the podcasting ecosystem. According to the announcement, the platform’s top 10 podcasters generate more than $26 million annually in subscription revenue. Supercast provides tools that enable creators to monetize through exclusive audio and video content and member communities.
The platform will continue to operate autonomously under founder and CEO Jason Sew Hoy. The company plans to accelerate investment in product development, creator growth, and team expansion with support from Red Seat Ventures.
“From the very first conversation with Chris Balfe at Red Seat Ventures and Paul Cheesbrough at Tubi Media Group, it was clear that we shared the same worldview: that creators can own their audience, control their brand and build significant, sustainable media businesses on their own terms,” Sew Hoy said.
The acquisition expands Red Seat Ventures’ creator-focused digital services portfolio, giving creators access to both advertising and subscription monetization through a single partner. Red Seat Ventures and Supercast aim to provide opportunities across subscriptions, sponsorships, events, merchandise, and video distribution.
“The rapid growth of direct-to-fan subscriptions has proven the value of recurring creator revenue, and this acquisition accelerates our strategy to provide a one-stop shop that helps creators grow their audience and monetize across channels,” said Chris Balfe, founder and CEO of Red Seat Ventures.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Fox acquired Red Seat Ventures in February 2025. Red Seat now operates as a standalone entity within Tubi Media Group, Fox’s digital and streaming division. In October 2025, Red Seat signed a distribution and advertising sales agreement reportedly worth $150 million with Audiochuck, the producer of the true-crime series “Crime Junkie.” In November, Red Seat secured an exclusive sales agreement with The 33rd Team, a sports media company, managing sales representation for multiple NFL-related podcasts.
