Red Seat Ventures Signs Multiyear Ad Sales & Distribution Deal With True Crime Podcast ‘Crime Weekly’
Red Seat Ventures, a creator-led media company owned by Fox Corporation, has signed a multiyear partnership with “Crime Weekly,” a true crime podcast co-hosted by private investigator and former police detective Derrick Levasseur and true crime digital creator Stephanie Harlowe.
Under the agreement, Red Seat Ventures will serve as the exclusive audio and video ad sales partner for “Crime Weekly” and distribute the show across FOX’s streaming platforms, including Tubi and FOX One, as well as third-party platforms such as YouTube.
About ‘Crime Weekly’
Launched in 2020, “Crime Weekly” has accumulated nearly 90 million views on YouTube and more than 50 million podcast listens, according to the partnership announcement. The show covers criminal investigations, ranging from obscure cases to high-profile ones, drawing on Levasseur’s law enforcement background and Harlowe’s research and writing experience.
“‘Crime Weekly’ is one of the most thrilling and captivating podcasts in the true crime space,” said Alyse Powers, VP of Events at Red Seat Ventures. “We’ve hosted Derrick and Stephanie at our CrimeCon events, and now we’re delighted to officially partner with them in monetizing their business across wide-ranging distribution platforms.”
Levasseur and Harlowe described the deal as a continuation of an existing relationship. “Red Seat Ventures are experts in building new business avenues for creators like us in the true-crime podcast ecosystem,” they said in a joint statement. “This deal is a natural evolution of our longstanding relationship, and we’re excited to continue bringing these important stories to even wider audiences.”
Traditional Media and the Creator Economy
The partnership follows a broader push by Fox into creator-led podcasting and video distribution. Fox Corporation acquired Red Seat Ventures in 2025 to expand its presence in the podcast market and reach younger audiences, with Red Seat operating as a standalone entity within Fox’s Tubi Media Group.
Red Seat has also been building infrastructure around creator-led media. In April 2026, the company launched Speakeasy, a hosting, distribution, and monetization platform designed to help creators manage audio, video, subscriptions, and ad sales in one place.
The “Crime Weekly” agreement extends that strategy into true crime, one of podcasting’s most established audience categories. For Fox, the deal gives Tubi and FOX One additional creator-led programming with an existing audience across YouTube and podcast platforms. For Red Seat, it adds another show to a portfolio built around monetizing personality-driven media across multiple distribution channels.
The investment rationale comes as advertising dollars continue shifting toward creator-led platforms. WPP Media projected that creator-driven platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn, would generate more ad revenue in 2025 than traditional media channels such as TV, print, audio, and cinema combined.
