TikTok Tests Hotel Metasearch Cards That Redirect Users to Expedia, Booking.com

TikTok is beta-testing hotel metasearch cards that surface in user feeds and redirect to third-party booking platforms, according to a report from Cogwheel Marketing and Analytics published on Hospitality Net.

The cards appear in place of the next video as users scroll through TikTok’s For You Page, displaying a hotel photo, property name, and rate options from booking partners including Expedia, Booking.com, and Trip.com.

Users selecting “View” are redirected to an online travel agency (OTA) to complete a reservation. Those selecting “Explore More” remain in the app and access TikTok’s hotel listing page. Clicking “Not Interested” registers negative feedback within the beta framework.

Separate From Existing Ad Products

The report notes that the metasearch feature is distinct from TikTok’s Travel Ads product, which serves traditional video and carousel ads with targeted audiences and “Book Now” calls to action driving to advertiser-selected websites.

TikTok populates hotel listing data by aggregating information from upstream point-of-interest providers, most likely, according to the report, drawing on OTA metadata for real-time rates and availability, TripAdvisor reviews, and user-generated content from its own platform. The company also pays creators through its TikTok Go program to produce hotel-specific content.

Booking and Creator Monetization Features

TikTok launched a direct hotel booking feature earlier in 2025 through a partnership with Booking.com, allowing users to reserve rooms without leaving the app. Each property features a dedicated landing page with prices, amenities, reviews, nearby attractions, and related TikTok videos.

TikTok Go, the accompanying creator monetization program, allows hotels and local merchants to pay creators a commission or offer vouchers for promotional content. Creators must have at least 1,000 followers, be 18 or older, and maintain an account in good standing to participate.

TikTok reports that its users are 2.6 times more likely to book an experience after searching for it on the platform, and that 66% of users identify TikTok as their most helpful source of travel inspiration.
