Gary Neville’s Media Group Acquires Mark Goldbridge’s YouTube Channels in Seven-Figure Deal

The Overlap, the sports media group co-founded by former Manchester United defender Gary Neville, has acquired two YouTube channels owned by soccer content creator Mark Goldbridge in a deal worth an undisclosed seven-figure sum.

Goldbridge’s “The United Stand,” the largest Manchester United fan channel on YouTube, has 2.26 million subscribers and centers on live match reaction content. His second channel, “That’s Football,” covers the Premier League and broader soccer topics and has 1.46 million subscribers. Across TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook, “The United Stand” holds a combined 4.4 million followers, while “That’s Football” has approximately 350,000.

The deal includes all social media platforms linked to both channels.

Expansion Plans

Under The Overlap’s ownership, “The United Stand” will launch two new formats: “Stick to United,” which will feature former players and journalists, and “Daily United,” a daily Manchester United news show. “That’s Football” will be relaunched and rebranded as a daily soccer news and podcast channel.

Neville said the acquisition was the “first of hopefully a few more” as the group looks to “build brilliant channels for big clubs in this country and around Europe,” targeting 15 to 20 million fans interacting across platforms globally.

“The United Stand and That’s Football are two of the best-known football channels on YouTube, and our intention is to develop them into the most compelling Manchester United and football news channels in the market,” Neville said in a statement.

Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent Di Cesare, said: “This deal is about what comes next. The Overlap has the ambition, the credibility, and the resources to help me take what I do to the next level.”

Company Context

The Overlap, founded in 2021, produces podcasts, videos, and social content, including its flagship show “Stick to Football,” featuring Neville alongside pundits Roy Keane, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, and Ian Wright. The acquisition is its first since Global, one of Europe’s largest commercial radio companies, acquired a majority stake in The Overlap in January 2026.

With the addition of Goldbridge’s channels, The Overlap will hold approximately 6 million YouTube subscribers across its network.
