NAR Launches Influencer Program To Amplify Realtor Voices
The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has launched the NAR Influencer Program, a member engagement initiative that replaces the organization’s former Surrogate Program. The program recruits active NAR members to share real estate information through social media, local media, and peer-to-peer communications.
NAR Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Bennett Richardson said the name change responds directly to member input: “Through member feedback, we heard a call for a program title that better reflects what our influencers do day in and day out. The NAR Influencer Program more clearly describes the roles and responsibilities of being an influencer – being a trusted voice to elevate REALTORS®, share timely, consumer-friendly information, and help shape conversations about real estate in communities nationwide. The name is new, but the mission is the same: make it easy for members to stay informed and engage with confidence.”
Member Resources
NAR equips program participants with three categories of resources:
- Members receive early access to talking points and consumer-friendly framing for complex industry topics.
- A weekly newsletter delivers curated content and sample copy designed for distribution across social media channels.
- NAR also hosts quarterly conference calls that provide program updates, previews of NAR communication plans, and networking opportunities among Influencers.
Scope and Focus Areas
According to NAR, influencers stay current on key issues shaping the real estate industry, including advocacy, market trends, strategic priorities, and broader industry developments. The program positions members to highlight the work realtors do for clients, the industry, and local communities, while communicating the value of NAR membership.
