Influencer’s $1,000 Coachella Dining Experience Draws Criticism
Influencer Adelaine Morin revealed details of her nearly $1,000 dining experience at the Nobu pop-up restaurant at Coachella. The 27-year-old creator, who boasts 1.1 million TikTok followers, documented the exclusive Omakase-style meal served on the festival grounds.
The upscale sushi venue requires reservations with full upfront payment and no refund options. Morin explains that despite accidentally booking for Coachella’s second weekend, she arranged to keep her reservation.
The fixed-price menu costs $350 per person with a mandatory 22% gratuity included. Late arrivals receive a to-go Bento Box with no on-site dining option.
Receipt Details and Time Constraints
Morin’s receipt, displayed in her vlog, shows charges for two diners at $350 each plus $161 in gratuity. Additional beverage purchases—including water, Red Bull, and sake—bring the total to approximately $945.
Diners face a strict 50-minute time limit to complete their meal, a constraint that generates criticism in the comments section even as Morin describes the experience as “worth it.”
Elsewhere at Coachella, creators document other high-priced food options. One TikTok user reports spending $17 on a lemonade and $102 on Mexican food described as subpar quality with “freezing cold” tortillas.
Public Response
The posts trigger fiery viewer reactions regarding festival pricing. Commenters note their inability to afford such luxuries, with responses ranging from “I can barely afford groceries these days” to observations that general admission tickets already cost $600 before factoring in food expenses.
Despite criticism, Morin maintains she doesn’t regret the experience, highlighting the unique opportunity to enjoy “a Michelin Star dinner” while watching performances at the nearby Quasar stage.
