Content Creators Left Unpaid As The Corner Agency Faces Liquidation Proceedings
Multiple content creators are highlighting outstanding payments from The Corner following the agency’s communications business entering liquidation. Despite liquidation proceedings for The Corner Communications (London) Ltd, the company posted on LinkedIn that it was “still very much in business,” a statement that has since been deleted.
Companies House filings reveal the agency had about 40 creditors, including creators, though this number has decreased. The situation has prompted public responses from several influencers who claim they are owed substantial sums.
YouTuber Fabulous Hannah claims The Corner owes her £14,500 in a now-deleted Instagram Reel. In her post, she called for “financial protection” for creators, noting that while the amount might be “a drop in the ocean” for executives, it would cover her maternity pay.
Make-up artist Tyra Harrison said the situation is “incredibly disheartening,” with some creators taking additional jobs to supplement their income. Harrison describes these payment issues as “becoming a trend” for creators and advocates for “better laws in place.”
Agency Response
The Corner informed content creators on July 25 that the business was entering liquidation, directing payment queries to liquidators. The Corner Talent Ltd continues to operate separately from the communications business and will focus on advertising and influencer marketing in the future, according to reports.
“Liquidating a company is a difficult decision, not taken lightly,” stated Neil Simpson, chief executive and co-founder of The Corner. “But there is a proper legal process and we are adhering to it.”
