Depop Partners With Amelia Dimoldenberg on Shoppable Edits for ‘Chicken Shop Date’ Finale
Depop, the secondhand fashion marketplace owned by eBay, is partnering with Amelia Dimoldenberg on a series of shoppable edits marking the end of her YouTube series “Chicken Shop Date,” WWD reported.
Dimoldenberg worked with her stylist, Chloe Griffin, on episode-inspired edits of Depop listings drawn from her personal style, her previous looks and outfits worn by celebrity guests. The “Depop x Chicken Shop Date” edits go live on November 6. An exclusive Shop Drop of pieces from her own wardrobe, including items she wore on the show, follows on November 12, ahead of the series’ final episode.
RUSSH reported that the edits are sourced from independent Depop sellers and that new selections will arrive alongside episodes of the final series. It also reported premieres in London on Nov. 16 and New York on Nov. 19, followed by a one-night cinema screening of all six episodes on Nov. 24. WWD reported that Dimoldenberg will wear Depop-sourced looks in the fifth episode of the final series and at a New York premiere for the show’s ending.
In a statement first shared with WWD, Dimoldenberg said her wardrobe is “integral to the persona I take on as host,” and described the edits and the wardrobe sale as a natural way to bring viewers into another part of the show as it ends. Steve Dool, Depop’s senior director of brand and creative, said her style is part of the world she built with the series and called the partnership an invitation for people to express themselves through secondhand fashion.
A Series Ending on Its Own Terms
Dimoldenberg announced in an Instagram post on Sept. 3 that she was ending “Chicken Shop Date” after 12 years. The series has produced more than 100 episodes and accumulated roughly 1 billion views, while its YouTube channel has more than 3.4 million subscribers. Dimoldenberg launched the show in March 2014, according to WWD, and guests have included Billie Eilish, Andrew Garfield, Jennifer Lawrence, and Paul Mescal.
Her next projects run through her production company, Dimz Inc. She is developing a young adult drama for the BBC and writing and starring in a romantic comedy with Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures. Dimz Inc. also produces “Passenger Princess,” her Formula 1 series. WWD noted that she has been a red carpet correspondent and social media ambassador for the Academy Awards since 2024.
Depop’s Growth Under eBay
eBay agreed in February to acquire Depop from Etsy, and Fortune reported that eBay acquired it in July. When the deal was announced, Depop had 7 million active buyers, nearly 90% of them under 34, and about $1 billion in annual gross merchandise sales for 2025.
eBay executives gave updated figures on the company’s third-quarter earnings call last week. eBay and Depop together generated $9 billion in U.S. fashion sales volume over the trailing 12 months, up in the mid-20% range from a year earlier, a figure that counts Depop’s sales before the acquisition. Depop’s U.S. sales volume more than doubled year over year in the quarter, and CEO Jamie Iannone said the platform reached 11 million active buyers over the trailing 12 months, up from 9 million. CFO Peggy Alford said eBay is directing more marketing resources toward Depop.
Iannone said eBay is managing eBay and Depop as a portfolio while preserving each brand’s distinct experience. Alford said Depop added nearly three percentage points to eBay’s 15% year-over-year growth in gross merchandise volume, which reached $23.2 billion in the quarter.
