Popeyes Streamer Meals Cause Confusion As Streamer Says Bundle Not An Official Menu Item

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen’s latest marketing campaign has created confusion at restaurant counters nationwide after launching a digital-only Build Your Own Bundle (BYOB) promotion featuring popular internet personalities.

The campaign, unveiled August 12, across Popeyes’ social media platforms, showcases meal combinations associated with streamers including Brittany “Cinna,” FaZe Lacy, Agent 00, ExtraEmily, and others. Each bundle features three proteins and two sides for $20, available exclusively through the Popeyes mobile app.

Hours after the announcement, Twitch streamer Cinna publicly addressed confusion on X, writing, “Bro people are going to Popeyes and trying to order this and dming confused please help LMAOOOOO @Popeyes. some guy also just told me in the airport congrats on the collab meal he was gonna order it LMAOOOOOO I FEEL SO BAD AWWWWWW.”

When content creator MrBeast questioned whether her collaboration was legitimate, Cinna confirmed it wasn’t real, responding: “no but I’ll start working on it Rn. I’ll get you that meal deal one way or another.”

In-Store Verification Attempt Fails

The confusion extended beyond social media when FaZe Lacy attempted to order his own branded bundle during a live Twitch stream. Footage shared on X shows a Popeyes employee stating: “No. We never had this promotion,” despite Lacy showing the official promotional material.

Fellow content creator FaZe Adapt expressed surprise at the response, while Lacy questioned: “Why did Popeyes post it then?”

According to the promotional materials, the streamer bundles are exclusively available through the Popeyes mobile application, not for in-store or counter ordering. This digital-only approach appears to be creating friction between the online campaign and in-store implementation.

As of publishing, Popeyes has not issued a formal statement addressing the confusion surrounding its influencer collaboration campaign.
