Content Creator Annie Winn Nominated For British Farming Award

Annie Winn from Harlestone, Northamptonshire, UK, has been nominated for “Content Creator of the Year” at the British Farming Awards. As the BBC reports, Winn established her own social media production company after a decade in the agricultural industry, focusing on showcasing farming activities and raising awareness about the sector.

“I’ve always said how proud I am to advocate for the agricultural industry and the people within it, and I plan to continue to always do so because it’s something I truly enjoy and I believe in, for so many different reasons,” Winn wrote on LinkedIn.

Despite describing herself as a “country bumpkin,” she entered agriculture without prior farming experience, eventually discovering her passion while working as a certification officer for the Red Tractor accreditation scheme and later in marketing for the Addington Fund.

Winn’s business model includes creating comprehensive social media content for agricultural clients, from posts and graphics to video editing, while also attending agricultural shows and events to gather material.

Digital Growth in Agricultural Content

Winn’s nomination comes amid growing digital presence within the agricultural sector. Other prominent UK farming content creators include Kaleb Cooper, who has amassed 2.8 million Instagram followers through his appearances on “Clarkson’s Farm,” and Tom Pemberton, whose YouTube channel has over 100,000 subscribers.

According to the BBC, Pemberton’s YouTube content has influenced public perception of farming by providing authentic views of daily farm life, from cows calving to ewes lambing. His recognition as a British Farming Awards Digital Innovator in 2018 underscores the impact of digital storytelling in reshaping public views on farming.

Major agricultural companies are also investing in content creation. John Deere recently reported reaching 100 million views and nearly 700,000 followers in its first year of targeted digital storytelling. The company’s Chief Tractor Officer, Rex Curtiss, leads content creation efforts, particularly on TikTok, addressing research showing low brand affinity among younger generations.
