College Social App Fizz Partners With Gopuff To Bring Grocery Delivery To Campuses

College-focused social platform Fizz announced a partnership with food delivery company Gopuff to integrate grocery delivery directly within its application. The collaboration allows students to order items ranging from late-night snacks to weekly groceries with delivery times as fast as 15 minutes, the company reports.

Teddy Solomon, Fizz co-founder and CEO, indicates that the expansion addresses existing user behavior, as students already coordinate group food deliveries through the app.

“Gopuff was founded by college students and has long had a strong presence on campuses, so the synergy with Fizz was clear,” Solomon told TechCrunch. “We share the same Gen Z DNA, and once conversations began, it was obvious this partnership would be a great fit.”

Founded in 2021, Fizz currently operates across more than 620 U.S. campuses with over 27 million posts shared to date. The platform, which allows students to connect anonymously with peers at their universities, already features a marketplace where users buy and sell items locally.

Convenience Features Target Student Lifestyle

While students can already order directly through Gopuff, the integration provides increased convenience. The Fizz Store offers pre-selected grocery collections, including Gym, Study Fuel, and Rush bags, to streamline essential shopping.

Despite this expansion, Fizz maintains its identity as primarily a social platform. Solomon contrasts Fizz with entertainment-focused platforms like Instagram and TikTok, positioning his app as “the social app for the 99% of life that is not on Instagram and TikTok.”

The startup has secured more than $40 million in funding to date.
