Aviation Influencer Nonstop Dan Reveals Kuwait Airways’ Response To Controversial Flight Incident
Following a controversial incident involving aviation content creator Nonstop Dan aboard a Kuwait Airways first-class flight from Bangkok, the airline’s chairman has personally responded with a formal apology, according to the influencer’s new YouTube video.
The incident, which Dan documented in a two-part video series that has amassed over 1 million views, involved confrontations with flight crew and ground staff over his recording of a flight review.
“I’m deeply sorry for what happened to you on board one of our flights from Bangkok,” Dan read the airline chairman’s email. “I would like to apologize for the unacceptable behavior of the flight crew chief on that flight and for the misconduct of the airport staff.”
The chairman added that Kuwait Airways “will not allow such an incident to pass without taking deterrent action against any of our employees who harm the company’s reputation.”
Dan also claims that a member of Kuwait’s royal family has contacted him regarding the incident. The royal family member expressed being “extremely sorry about the unacceptable and unfortunate incident” and requested flight details to facilitate an investigation.
According to the video, both the chairman and the royal family member offered goodwill gestures, including refunds and complimentary flights, which Dan declined.
Policy Review
Based on Dan’s claims, the airline’s official acknowledged the importance of “transparent and open reviews” while confirming a thorough investigation is underway. The chairman noted that clear communication around filming policies is “essential” and promised to ensure “these guidelines are clearly stated going forward.”
Dan, who paid approximately $1,480 for the first-class ticket, says he initially received permission to film himself but was later confronted by the purser. The situation allegedly escalated to threats regarding his safety upon landing.
Public Reaction
Public reaction to the incident remains mixed. In the comment section of Dan’s video, a user stated, “Once he threatened your safety, it’s no longer a training issue,” while others questioned whether the airline’s response was motivated by Dan’s large platform.
“Dan waited months for a response, which he did not get, until after posting the video. Anyone without a YouTube channel would not have gotten a response,” wrote a user.
The incident raises questions about content creation policies on international carriers. Dan, who has reviewed over 160 airlines during his career, states this level of confrontation is unusual, having “flown every other major Middle Eastern carrier in every cabin and made videos on almost all of them without any issues.”
