Twitch Creator Broadcasts Childbirth Live As Platform CEO Watches

Twitch creator Fandy, known for gaming content, live-streamed her childbirth process, attracting thousands of viewers, including the platform’s CEO, Dan Clancy.

The just over eight-hour broadcast on October 7 captured the entire labor and delivery process, showing the creator giving birth in an inflatable pool in her living room. The stream accumulated more than 50,000 views, according to The Verge.

Titled “Water Broke, Baby Time,” the stream showed Fandy assisted by a support team, including her husband, Adam (“Adamax”), for the at-home birth of her daughter, Luna. The broadcast captured the full emotional spectrum of the birth experience, with the newborn making an appearance in the final 45 minutes of the stream.

Platform Leadership Signals Approval

Clancy’s presence in the chat appears to address concerns about potential community guidelines. “Fandy. Best of luck and congratulations,” Clancy wrote during the livestream. “Wishing you the best in this journey.”

The executive’s participation suggests that the official platform has accepted the birth content, despite some users questioning whether the broadcast violates Twitch policies.

Fandy, who typically streams games, including “World of Warcraft,” “Overwatch,” and “League of Legends,” announced the broadcast on X: “Hi twitter my water just broke so I think I’m going this live. Baby time :).”

The 30-year-old creator, who has 300,000 Instagram followers, initially announced her pregnancy in April with sonogram images and the caption “I’m having a baby 🙂 due Oct 18th! Future gladiator inc.”

While not officially recognized by the platform as the first birth livestreamed on Twitch, this event represents a notable example of an established creator with a large following deliberately incorporating a major life event into their content strategy.

After witnessing the birth, Fandy’s husband, Adam, acknowledged the viewing audience directly, telling viewers, “That’s a plus one baby, boys!” He later thanked the viewers for witnessing what he described as “an insane experience” and credited the team that helped set up the technical equipment, noting that he originally planned to record on an iPhone.
