Tubi, TikTok Launch Creator Development Program to Fast-Track Talent Into Long-Form Programming
Tubi, a Fox-owned streaming service, and TikTok have announced a Creatorverse Incubator, designed to help TikTok creators develop original shows for Tubi. Creator shows will premiere exclusively on Tubi, which reports more than 100 million monthly active users.
Selected creators will develop original series across scripted and unscripted formats, with creative direction shaped by the creator and supported by Tubi. TikTok will identify creators for consideration, and Tubi plans to announce an initial cohort of participants this summer. TikTok will also use its TikTok Spotlight feature to drive fan conversation around the original series on Tubi.
Rich Bloom, General Manager of Creator Programs and EVP of Business Development at Tubi, framed the partnership as a bridge between short-form digital content and premium long-form storytelling. “TikTok has become one of the most powerful engines for discovering creative voices and building passionate communities at scale,” Bloom said. “This partnership allows us to work with successful TikTok creators who are ready to take the next step creatively, expanding their fandoms to new audiences on Tubi.”
Dawn Yang, Global Head of Entertainment Partnerships at TikTok, said the program extends the platform’s support for creators beyond TikTok itself. “Our partnership with Tubi will give the next generation of entertainers more opportunities to expand their audiences, tell bigger stories, and turn their creativity into lasting impact,” Yang said.
Tubi states that it has added more than 16,000 episodes from over 200 creators to its platform over the past 10 months. The company cited Kelon Campbell’s “Terri Joe: Missionary in Miami” as an example of the model in practice. The film, based on Campbell’s TikTok Live characters, debuted at No. 8 on Variety’s Streaming Original Movies Chart in January, which ranks the most-watched streaming originals weekly using data from Luminate’s Film & TV Streaming Viewership product.
