TikTok, iHeartMedia Launch TikTok Radio, Debut Creator-Led Podcast Network
TikTok and iHeartMedia have launched TikTok Radio and announced the first wave of creators for the TikTok Podcast Network, with the station going live on March 13 at SXSW in Austin.
TikTok Radio
TikTok Radio is available on the free iHeartRadio app and across 28 broadcast stations in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, and Miami. The station pairs TikTok creators and trends with iHeartMedia programming and on-air personalities.
Programming includes recurring segments such as “Behind-the-Charts,” a weekly countdown of the 10 biggest songs on TikTok; “Hacks on the :20s,” a trending life hacks segment airing hourly; “New Music Fridays”; and “On The Verge,” spotlighting artists approaching the charts.
The station launched live from the iHeartPodcast Hotel at SXSW, featuring TikTok creators including Grace Wells, Madison Tevlin, Eric Sedeño, and Bree Stephens.
TikTok Podcast Network
iHeartMedia and TikTok also revealed the first slate of creator-hosted podcasts set to launch in the coming months. GEICO joins as the network’s exclusive launch partner.
The announced shows include “Suite 305” with Lele Pons, “Caroline’s Closet” with fashion editor Caroline Vazzana, “Sports Slice” with Tim Martin, “The Clifford Show” with Clifford Taylor IV, and “The Set List” with Carter Gregory. Content spans fashion, sports, music, and culture.
The partnership, first announced in November, also includes the development of up to 25 podcasts distributed through iHeartPodcasts, co-branded studio infrastructure in Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta, and creator access to iHeartMedia live events such as the iHeartRadio Music Festival and Jingle Ball.
What Executives Are Saying
“At TikTok, empowering creators to turn their passions into lasting careers is core to everything we do, and this partnership unlocks powerful new opportunities for them to expand their voices across radio, podcasts and live moments, while connecting with fans in new ways,” said Dan Page, Global Head of Media and Licensing Partnerships at TikTok.
“This next chapter of our multiplatform partnership with TikTok unlocks the full power of both ecosystems – creators, broadcast radio, podcasts, live moments, and social – all working together in real time,” said Tom Poleman, Chief Programming Officer for iHeartMedia.
Additional details on the TikTok Podcast Network, including premiere dates and future creator announcements, are expected in the coming months.
