TikTok Unveils AI-Powered Creation Tools, Boosts Creator Revenue Sharing
TikTok is introducing new AI-powered tools and a revamped revenue-sharing model to enhance creator capabilities and earnings on the platform.

New AI Creation Tools
TikTok is rolling out Smart Split, an AI editing tool available globally through TikTok Studio Web. The feature automatically transforms longer videos into multiple short-form clips optimized for the platform, complete with captions, transcriptions, and vertical reformatting.
Creators can upload content exceeding 1 minute, select specific segments, and either let Smart Split determine optimal clip lengths or set custom durations. The tool also offers various caption formatting options before enabling direct uploads to TikTok accounts.
Additionally, TikTok is launching AI Outline to streamline content planning. This feature generates video titles, hashtags, hooks, and structured outlines based on creator prompts or trending search topics from Creator Search Insights. The tool provides a six-part video framework that creators can customize to match their style.
“We’re always building products with safety in mind, and the same goes for our AI innovations,” TikTok states in its announcement. All AI-generated recommendations undergo safety checks to ensure alignment with Community Guidelines.
Enhanced Revenue Sharing
Furthermore, TikTok is expanding its subscription revenue-sharing model, allowing creators to earn up to 90% of profits after fees. The platform now offers a base revenue share of 70%, up from 50%.
Creators meeting additional requirements can unlock an extra 20% monthly reward. Eligibility criteria include maintaining at least 10,000 followers, generating 100,000 views in the previous month, and posting at least three subscription-only videos per month.
This revenue model applies to TikTok’s Subscription product, which enables creators to monetize through monthly subscription fees in exchange for exclusive content and features such as special badges, subscriber-only posts, and chat capabilities.
AI Outline is currently available to creators 18 years and older in the United States, Canada, and select markets, with broader availability planned in the near future. TikTok indicates that creators should monitor in-app notifications for details on unlocking the additional bonus opportunity.
