Lala Sadii, the TikTok personality and singer with more than 25 million followers on the platform, has been attached to lead a live-action scripted series in development at Disney Channel and Disney+, per Variety.

The project, titled “Lala IRL,” is described as a “behind-the-scenes” look at a social media star navigating school and family life. According to the logline, the series follows a girl who “was just a girl trying to fit in like everyone else” before becoming a social media superstar, and who must now contend with “jealous classmates, intrigued friends who’d love just a little of her clout, concerned siblings, and strict parents who are absolutely going to lose their minds if they find out what she’s been up to.” The show is billed as “inspired by the extraordinary true story of TikTok phenomenon Lala Sadii.”

Peter Paige, known for “Queer as Folk” and “The Thing About Harry,” is set to write and direct. He will executive produce alongside Sadii, Lauren Gellert, Billy Mann, and Endemol Shine North America’s Sharon Levy and Lisa Fahrenholt.

Sadii’s TikTok page has accumulated more than 1.7 billion likes. Her content spans comedic skits and original music, including tracks such as “Murder My Feelings,” “Love Is BS,” “Mr. Nice Girl,” “Bubble,” “Drama” and “If You Only Knew.”
