TikTok North America Ad Chief Khartoon Weiss Departs After Nearly Six Years

TikTok’s North America Lead for Global Business Solutions, Khartoon Weiss, is leaving the company, according to an internal memo shared with Digiday and confirmed by Bloomberg. Her last day is April 10.

Weiss spent nearly six years at TikTok, most recently overseeing the platform’s global brands and agency business for North America. In a memo sent to clients and partners, she said she was leaving “to pursue a new opportunity” and assured stakeholders that the company would “ensure continuity and maintain momentum on your priorities.”

Leadership Transition

TikTok is seeking a replacement to cover Weiss’s North America remit. In the interim, country leads for the U.S. and Canada, Joshua Bloom and Nik Djukic, remain in their respective roles, according to Digiday.

Weiss was a prominent face for TikTok’s advertising business heading into 2026. In March, she headlined TikTok’s first major event following a January national security deal involving its U.S. operations. “We’re going to kick into fifth gear,” she said at the event. “We’re going to completely accelerate.”

A Pattern of Senior Exits

Weiss’s departure continues a pattern of senior-level exits from TikTok over the past two years, according to Bloomberg.

Global Head of Creators Kim Farrell left earlier this year after nearly six years. Blake Chandlee, who led advertising and marketing, departed in 2025 after six years. Public policy executive Michael Beckerman, music chief Ole Obermann, and U.S.-based general counsel Erich Andersen also exited in recent years.

ByteDance, TikTok’s Chinese parent company, retains control of the platform’s advertising and marketing operations following a U.S.-China national security agreement reached in January. ByteDance regularly restructures TikTok teams and, in some cases, has enlisted personnel from China to lead operations, per Bloomberg.
