The Podcast Consultant Acquires Sundial Media to Expand Audio, Video Production
The Podcast Consultant, a Chicago-based podcast production agency, acquired Sundial Media, a boutique podcast production company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Sundial Media was founded in 2024 by Adam Hendricks and Pat Kicklighter. The company worked with clients including “Better” by Great Place to Work, “Fracture to Flourish,” and “Sightings,” helping them collectively surpass one million downloads and views. Hendricks will join The Podcast Consultant as part of the deal.
“Sundial Media built a strong reputation quickly because Adam and Pat care deeply about quality, reliability, and the client experience,” said Karl Hughes, CEO of The Podcast Consultant, in a press release. “Their experience and strong client retention made them a great fit to join us here.”
Leadership and Production Credentials
Hendricks previously served as VP of Operations at Resonate Recordings and managed production on shows that reached the top of the Apple Podcasts charts. Kicklighter, Sundial’s Chief Creative Officer, has credits with Tenderfoot TV, Audiochuck, HGTV, and TruTV, spanning shows including “Culpable,” “Undetermined,” and “To Live and Die in LA.”
“Pat and I started Sundial Media to partner with creators and brands to make shows worth tuning into,” Hendricks said. “Partnering together gives Sundial’s clients access to a broader team, with more resources that share the same values as the Sundial team.”
The Podcast Consultant, which has produced more than 10,000 episodes since 2015, serves financial services firms, universities, and business podcasters across audio and video formats. The company said the combined team will continue serving existing clients while expanding production capacity and creative support.
Hughes added that the acquisition is part of a broader strategy to partner with founder-led production companies, and that The Podcast Consultant plans to pursue additional acquisitions in podcasting, audio, and video production.
