Edison Research reports that “The Joe Rogan Experience” remains the top podcast in the United States for Q1 2025, maintaining its position from the previous quarter. Based on interviews with 5,068 weekly podcast consumers ages 13 and older in the U.S., the research firm’s latest rankings show stability at the top, with the six highest-ranked podcasts maintaining their positions from Q4 2024.
“Crime Junkie,” “The Daily,” “Call Her Daddy,” “This Past Weekend with Theo Von,” and “Dateline NBC” round out the top six podcasts in unchanged positions. Regular top ten members, “This American Life” and “New Heights,” also returned to the upper echelon of the rankings.
Former YouTuber Stephanie Soo’s true crime podcast “Rotten Mango” entered the top ten for the first time, landing at #8. The show, which recently joined the SiriusXM Podcast Network, gained prominence after being featured in YouTube’s announcement about reaching one billion monthly users.
Self-help author Mel Robbins debuted at #15 with her podcast, driven by the viral success of her “Let Them” theory about disregarding others’ judgments. Matt and Shane’s “Secret Podcast” entered the rankings at #50, with co-host Shane Gillis’s rising profile including a second “Saturday Night Live” hosting appearance and a high-profile show with Zach Bryan.

Video podcast consumption continues to gain momentum, with WARC Media reporting that video podcast watch time reached 40% of U.S. users in 2024, while audio-only consumption decreased to 31%. YouTube reported over 400 million hours of monthly podcast viewing time on television in 2024.
Netflix also noted that it is exploring the potential of adding video podcasts to its streaming platform as part of its content diversification strategy
