Team Behind FeedSpot Launches Podcast Sponsorship Database Podmerse
Podmerse, a podcast sponsorship database built by the team behind FeedSpot and MillionPodcasts, launched publicly on October 28.
The database holds more than 2 million sponsored episodes across about 368,900 brands and nearly 44,000 podcasts, and it updates daily. Podmerse said it builds the record from the episodes themselves rather than from media kits. It monitors more than 2 million podcasts and analyzes each new episode for sponsorship, including host-read and dynamically inserted ads. Nothing is reported by brands or shows, the company said, and every count links to the episodes behind it.
Each entry lists the brand, the podcast, the number of episodes the brand ran on that show, the date it last appeared, and the brand’s industry and the podcast’s category. Users can filter by industry, podcast category, audience size, episode count and last sponsored date, save results to named lists, and export them to CSV. Brands and podcasts can also be followed. Following a brand surfaces each new show it sponsors, while following a podcast surfaces each new sponsor it signs.

Podmerse said media kits fall short because they are sales documents that feature the sponsors a show wants to highlight, rarely include episode counts or dates, and often stay up after a sponsor has left.
“Most small and mid-size podcasters are struggling to monetize their shows, and it is rarely because the audience is too small,” said Anuj Agarwal, co-founder of Podmerse. He added that the problem is that podcasters cannot see which companies already pay for similar audiences.
His co-founder, Vineet Agarwal, framed the repeat-sponsor question as the more useful one. “Which brands came back to a show a second and a third time” matters more than which brands sponsor podcasts at all, he said, because a single test episode and a year of monthly renewals look identical as a logo on a media kit.
Podmerse’s free plan requires no credit card. The Pro plan costs $19 per month, or 25% less when billed annually, and adds unlimited searching, full results, longer sponsorship history, and larger exports.
