Snapchat Rolls Out New Creator Tools Including Auto-Save Stories, Timeline Editor
Snapchat has introduced a suite of new creator-focused tools and features designed to enhance content creation and provide deeper performance insights.

The new “Create a Video” template allows iOS users to select Memories, choose songs from Snapchat’s Sounds library, and generate custom compilation videos.
Coming soon globally, Auto-Save Stories to Public Profiles will enable creators to automatically save public Stories to their profiles, making content permanently accessible beyond the standard 24-hour window.
U.S. creators will soon gain access to Timeline Editor, a chronological video editing tool that simplifies cutting and rearranging video segments while adding Lenses, music, and other creative elements.
Enhanced Analytics
Snapchat has rolled out comprehensive insights across Stories and Spotlight, including metrics for Returning Viewers who have watched a creator’s content for at least 12 days over the past month. This metric allows creators to share their audience loyalty with brands.
Additional analytics include Top Content tracking, Total View Time across content types, Views by Traffic Sources, Spotlight Average View Time, and Spotlight Average View Rate, showing content completion percentages.
The company recently reported reaching 460 million daily active users in Q1 2025, with more than 900 million monthly active users. Over 1 billion Snaps are shared publicly each month, with total content viewing time increasing year-over-year.
Creator Ecosystem Expansion
These updates follow Snapchat’s February partnership with Later, which integrated Snapchat’s Creator Discovery API and Public Profile API to help marketers discover creators and schedule content.
Separately, the company has bolstered its AR capabilities with Lens Studio 5.10, introducing Bitmoji game creation tools, and launched Sponsored AI Lenses that put users at the center of brand experiences.
