Snap Rolls Out Bitmoji Game Creation Tools In Lens Studio Update
Snap Inc. has released Lens Studio 5.10, introducing new tools for augmented reality (AR) developers to create Bitmoji games.
The update features a Bitmoji Suite that enables creators to design custom outfits, generate Bitmoji-stylized props, and animate Bitmoji characters using Snap’s library. These tools integrate with new “Games” components in the Asset Library.
The “Games” assets include a turn-based component for back-and-forth gameplay between friends, a customizable Character Controller supporting various perspectives (third-person, first-person, side-scroller, and top-down), and enhanced Leaderboard features with templates for start and end screens.
Game Lenses Launch
Alongside the developer tools, Snap is launching single-player and turn-based Bitmoji Game Lenses, including Bitmoji Bistro, Bitmoji Buckets, and Beatmoji Blast. These represent the first collection of Bitmoji Game Lenses designed for challenging friends.
Snap has previously offered financial incentives to AR creators and developers as part of the recent Bitmojiverse Challenge. The company introduced Challenge Tags earlier this year, offering monthly themed competitions with cash rewards. The first Challenge Tag focused on humor-themed Lenses with a $10,000 prize pool.
Snap reports that its AR creator and developer community now includes more than 375,000 individuals and teams globally. The company’s Easy Lens feature, which enables creators to build Lenses in minutes, has generated over 10,000 Lenses since testing began in December.
