Muck Rack Adds Podcast Monitoring for 65,000 Shows Directly Into Its Core PR Platform

Public relations management platform Muck Rack announced that it now monitors approximately 65,000 full, searchable podcast transcripts, bringing podcast coverage into the same platform PR teams already use to track news, pitch journalists, and measure results.

Muck Rack includes the feature at no additional cost for customers on Standard and Premier plans. Teams can create dedicated podcast Trackers and Alerts for specific mentions, search across English-language episode transcripts, guest and host names, podcast titles, and episode descriptions to find exact spoken references. Episode detail pages provide full transcript context alongside an embedded audio player, allowing users to verify the relevance of a mention without leaving the platform. Users can filter results by podcast series and publish date, and add podcast contacts directly to pitch or media lists from within the tool.

In total, Muck Rack monitors more than 2 million podcasts, according to the announcement. Of those, approximately 65,000 carry full, searchable transcripts. For the remainder, the platform uses keyword matching against titles and descriptions to maintain coverage of niche and emerging shows.

Podcast Consumption Continues to Grow

Muck Rack cited data showing 55% of the U.S. population listens to podcasts monthly. Edison Research data placed monthly listenership at 58% among Americans aged 12 and older, representing an estimated 167 million people.

“Podcast audiences are deeply engaged, and even the influence of a niche show can be enormous for a brand,” said Gregory Galant, co-founder and CEO of Muck Rack. “As new podcasts continue to emerge at a rapid pace, tracking the right shows and staying on top of mentions has become more complex. PR teams need a way to monitor podcasts as easily as they monitor news and social, without a separate tool or budget conversation.”

Sounds Profitable Partnership

The announcement comes weeks after Muck Rack joined the Sounds Profitable Partner Network, a trade association representing more than 200 organizations across the podcasting industry. At The Podcast Show London in May, Natan Edelsburg, Chief Partnerships Officer at Muck Rack, said most PR teams lack a strategic framework for podcasts despite the medium’s expanding presence across brand coverage, earned media, and AI-generated search results.

The company said the podcast monitoring features do not require additional vendor contracts or separate budget approvals for qualifying plan holders.
