Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen Launches Media Venture

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has launched Out of Pocket Studios, a media venture backing entertainment, commercial, and experiential projects. Allen will serve as CEO of the new company and executive producer on all of its work.

According to Variety, the studio builds on an alliance Allen struck with Skydance Sports, part of Paramount Skydance, in March 2025. President of Strategy and Operations at Out of Pocket Studios Lindsey Cohen will run the company’s day-to-day operations. Cohen previously worked at Meadowlark Media and DAZN and began her career at CAA.

“Skydance Sports has given me a platform to turn the ideas I care most about into something real,” Allen said in a statement. “We’re excited to share what Out of Pocket Studios has created so far, and for everyone to see what we’re building from here.”

The studio’s initial slate includes “America’s Tailgate,” a Labor Day television special airing on CBS that features music and celebrities, produced with Skydance Sports, EverWonder Studio and Lost Tribe Studio. The special is hosted by “CBS Mornings” anchor and “The NFL Today” analyst Nate Burleson alongside co-host Melanie Collins and correspondent Whitney Cummings, with an appearance from Allen.

Also launching is “NFL Play Action,” a weekly football-analysis show debuting on Paramount+ on September 9, hosted by Kyle Brandt and co-hosted by fitness instructor Ally Love. The program offers a weekly cultural recap of NFL action aimed at family viewing. A separate documentary, “The Buffalo Miracle,” is directed by Ben Proudfoot and produced with Breakwater Studios and Skydance Sports. It tells the story of a McDonald’s manager in Buffalo who opened the restaurant to stranded residents during a deadly blizzard on Christmas Eve 2022. Both Allen and Out of Pocket Studios are represented by CAA.

A SmithGeiger study commissioned by Google found 57% of Gen Z sports fans engage with podcasts or other athlete-created videos at least weekly, and 56% said they want to see more of their favorite athletes in content outside of games. The report describes fans as wanting to “understand who” athletes are, not just watch them perform, a shift that has opened space for players to build their own production ventures rather than appear solely within team- or league-owned content.
