DoorDash Launches Creator Program For Short-Form Videos, Enhances App With AI Features

DoorDash introduces a creator program that compensates users for short-form videos posted on its app. The initiative enables creators to record videos of meals from local restaurants, allowing users to preview dishes before ordering. The program currently accepts applications from people in 20 U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Austin, Miami, and San Francisco, with plans to expand to additional markets by the end of the year.

DoorDash has not disclosed specific details about the monetization model for creators whose content qualifies for compensation. According to TechCrunch, this move follows Uber Eats, which began testing a similar TikTok-like short-form video feed last year to boost discovery.

Restaurant Rewards Program

DoorDash has also rolled out “Going Out,” a feature that enables DashPass members to earn in-store rewards when dining at local restaurants. According to Parisa Sadrzadeh, DoorDash’s VP of Strategy and Operations, “Going Out customers received an average of $9 in value per order when using offers” during the testing period.

The rewards are now available at thousands of restaurants across select markets in the U.S. and Australia. Temporarily, all DoorDash users can access these benefits, not just DashPass subscribers. Additionally, users can book restaurant reservations directly through the app thanks to a new integration with SevenRooms, a company DoorDash acquired earlier this year.

AI-Powered Features

DoorDash enhances its app with several AI features, including:

  • Personalized recommendations on the homepage based on past orders, budget preferences, dietary restrictions, time of day, and location
  • “Complement your Cart” suggestions at checkout for grocery orders
  • AI smart tags that appear on restaurant menus, allowing users to filter for specific attributes such as vegetarian or high-protein dishes

The app also now allows users to browse nearby stores, compare prices, and view delivery estimates in one place when shopping for non-food items.
