CNN Adds Lemonada Media Video Podcasts To Streaming Service
CNN has launched a streaming partnership with Lemonada Media, bringing video versions of multiple Lemonada podcasts to CNN’s streaming platform. According to an official blog post, the deal adds shows hosted by Hasan Minhaj, Mandy Patinkin, Kathryn Grody, Steve Burns, Dan Buettner, Gretchen Rubin, and Lori Gottlieb to CNN’s subscription service.
The collaboration will produce new weekly video episodes and select library content from six Lemonada podcasts available to CNN streaming subscribers via CNN’s website and connected TV and mobile apps. The arrangement follows industry trends, with video podcasts now accounting for 30% of all podcast revenue in the U.S., estimated at $1.4 billion, according to media consulting firm Owl & Co.
“The rapid growth of video podcasts underscores the appetite for smart, personality-driven nonfiction content – an area where CNN has long been a leader,” said Amy Entelis, Executive Vice President of Talent, CNN Originals, and Creative Development for CNN Worldwide. “This collaboration with Lemonada builds on that strength, enabling us to scale thoughtfully, expand into new verticals, and meet audiences where they are increasingly watching.”
