Disctopia Launches Creator Ad Platform With AdsWizz, Offers Revenue Share Deal With Independent Podcasters

Disctopia, a streaming platform focused on independent creators, has launched a new advertising platform developed with digital audio advertising technology provider AdsWizz, expanding its suite of creator tools following its recent YouTube integration release.

The new advertising system enables podcast creators to monetize content directly through the Disctopia dashboard with what the company describes as “complete control” over ad placements. Creators can enable or disable advertisements on individual episodes or entire series.

The Charlotte-based company implements a 75% revenue share model, with creators receiving three-quarters of ad revenue after delivery and fees. Through its partnership with AdsWizz, the platform handles all technical aspects of ad insertion.

“For too long, ad monetization has been locked behind complex requirements or taken out of creators’ hands,” Patrick Hill, CEO of Disctopia, said in a press release. “With this launch, we’re putting that power where it belongs—back with the creator.”

Phased Rollout Strategy

The advertising platform initially focuses on podcast content, with plans to extend capabilities to music albums, audiobooks, and other audio formats hosted on Disctopia. All podcast creators on the platform now have access to the advertising features.

This release comes shortly after Disctopia’s recent announcement of YouTube integration, which allows users to publish video content directly to YouTube from within the Disctopia platform.

The YouTube feature enables one-click publishing with OAuth authentication, letting creators manage metadata, including titles, descriptions, tags, and privacy settings, directly within Disctopia. During the uploading process, users check a “Publish to my YouTube channel” option, with Disctopia handling the backend transfer to YouTube.

Technical Implementation

The ad system utilizes AdsWizz’s dynamic ad insertion technology and marketplace to connect creators with advertisers. No external tools or networks are required, as monetization functions are integrated into the existing creator dashboard.

Disctopia is providing support resources for creators adopting the new advertising tools, including tutorials, documentation, and a scheduled training webinar.
