Acast, Kit Partner to Let Podcasters and Newsletter Writers Cross Formats

Acast and Kit announced a partnership to help podcasters launch newsletters and newsletter writers add audio, offering platform access and hosting incentives to lower the barrier to entry. Creators who join through the partnership will receive sign-on offers that scale with their existing audience size, according to the companies.

Mike Leonard, Senior Director, Global Content Development at Acast, said the company’s creators already operate well beyond podcasting. “The reach and influence of our creators spans far beyond podcasting, now living in video, on social feeds, and beyond,” he said. “Newsletters, for example, have proven to be an impactful medium for diversifying content, discovering new audiences, and cultivating a following of engaged subscribers outside of podcasting.” He added that the reverse holds for newsletter writers adding audio: “The reverse is just as powerful for newsletter writers: adding a podcast turns text into dynamic audio, opening up a whole new way to build a following.”

Kit founder and CEO Nathan Barry framed the deal around audience ownership. “Email is still one of the best ways for creators to own the relationship with their audience,” he said. “While people won’t read more than a few hundred words from their inbox, they’ll happily listen to a podcast directly into their ear for an hour. Our partnership with Acast makes it easy for creators to build both, so the audience creators own in the inbox is the same one listening to creators in their headphones.”

The partnership extends a run of moves this month aimed at pushing Acast’s creators into more formats. Acast opened video publishing on Apple Podcasts to every creator on its platform, and acquired U.S. podcast network Backyard Ventures for $20 million. Backyard Ventures represents more than 200 creators, including Ryan Holiday’s “The Daily Stoic” and Piers Morgan’s “Uncensored,” across audio, YouTube, newsletters and social, and reported $16.1 million in 2025 revenue. Acast connects more than 140,000 creators with over 4,000 advertisers globally.

Kit, formerly ConvertKit, rebranded in October 2024 to reflect a shift from serving bloggers toward a broader creator tool suite spanning newsletters, monetization and an app marketplace.
